BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia was visited by the party’s Secretary General, Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, on Tuesday night to inquire about her health.

The meeting took place at the BNP chief’s Gulshan residence, Firoza, on August 12. Senior Standing Committee member Dr Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain also accompanied him during the visit.

According to party sources, Mirza Fakhrul is scheduled to depart for Bangkok on Wednesday morning on a Thai Airways flight from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport for a follow-up eye examination. His visit to Khaleda Zia came on the eve of his overseas trip.

This will not be his first visit to Bangkok for medical purposes. Earlier on May 13, he travelled there with his wife for treatment and successfully underwent surgery on his left eye at Rutnin Eye Hospital. After completing his treatment, he returned to Dhaka on June 7.
