DHAKA: Convicted and ailing BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia was admitted to Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) hospital on Monday (April 1).

Her cabin number is 621. Earlier, she was taken to the BSMMU hospital from the old central jail in Nazimuddin Road of Old Dhaka at 12:36pm.

A medical board was formed for her headed by BSMMU Internal Medicine Department Chairman Prof Dr Jilon Mia Sarkar. 

Rheumatology Dept’s Prof Dr Syed Atiqul Haque and Associate Prof Dr Shamim Ahmed and BSMMU Director Brig Gen Dr AK Mahbubul Hoque are among the members.

Sources from the hospital revealed the information, at noon. 

Khaleda Zia was admitted to BSMMU upon her consent following unwillingness over long.

She landed in the old central jail in February 2018 in a graft case.
