DHAKA: Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader has been released from Mount Elizabeth Hospital in Singapore after treatment on Friday (April 5) afternoon.
“Mount Elizabeth Hospital discharged Obaidul Quader at 3 pm”, said Abu Naser Tipu, public relations officer of the Road Transport and Bridge Ministry.
He also said, “The health condition of Obaidul Quader is currently better. As per advice of the physicians of Mount Elizabeth, he will be in Singapore for some more days for follow-up treatment”.
Earlier on march 26, Obaidul Quader has been moved to a cabin from Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of Mount Elizabeth Hospital in Singapore as his condition is improving.
Neurologist Prof Dr Abu Nasar Rizvi, director (planning & development) Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU), who has been coordinating Quader’s treatment in Singapore, confirmed the matter to Quader’s family members and others.
“Obaidul Quader is doing well. His blood pressure and diabetes are under control now,” added the physician.
Obaidul Quader, also the minister for road transport & bridges, underwent a bypass surgery at the same hospital on March 20.
Earlier on March 4, the minister who had been undergoing treatment at BSMMU Hospital since early Sunday (Mar 3) was taken to Singapore by an air ambulance as per advice of World renowned cardiologist Dr Devi Shetty.
Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader was admitted to the Critical Coronary Unit (CCU) of BSMMU Hospital after he felt breathing problems and chest pain.
He was diagnosed with blockages coronary arteries.
