JAMALPUR: The government would consider if convicted BNP chief Khaleda Zia seeks release on parole showing specific and logical reasons.
Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal made the disclosure on Saturday (April 6).
He was talking to the reporters after opening the new building of Bahadurabad naval outpost in Dewanganj upazila of Jamalpur.
“If she (Khaleda Zia) files plea, she might get bail. The home ministry hasn’t got yet any plea for her release on parole,” said the minister.
“For getting parole, a specific and logical reason should be shown in the plea,” added Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal.
However, BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia was recently taken to Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) hospital from old central jail in Nazimuddin road where she landed in a graft case in February, 2018.
