DHAKA: The situation that might allow BNP chief Khaleda Zia to get release from jail on parole is still to come, said Awami League joint general secretary Mahbub-ul Alam Hanif. 

“Khaleda Zia’s parole is not a political issue, it is a legal matter. But the situation was not created for her release on parole” Hanif was talking to reporters at AL president’s Dhanmondi political office on Sunday (April 7).

Generally, when the relatives of the condemned person die, he/she got release on parole to see the relatives for the last time, to participate in the funeral and when he/she falls sick. But as far as I'm aware, none of these situations apply to her.

There has been a buzz that Khaleda Zia might be released from jail on parole to go to aboard from better treatment. 

Earlier on April 1, Convicted BNP chief Khaleda Zia was taken to Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) hospital from old central jail. 

The BNP chief landed in the old central jail in February 2018 in a graft case.
