DHAKA: Ailing Jatiya Party Chairman HM Ershad on Sunday (April 7) donated his all movable and immovable assets to a trust.
The trustee board was formed on the same day.
HM Ershad, his son Eric Ershad, personal secretary Maj (retd) Khaled Akhtar, cousin Mukul, and personal staff Mohammad Jahangir are members of the five-member trustee board.
Jatiya Party presidium member SM Faisal Chisti confirmed the matter to Banglanews.
He couldn’t reveal name of the trustee board immediately.
The wealth include HM Ershad’s ‘President Park’ residence in Baridhara, 2 flats in Gulshan, shop in Banglamotor, cold storage, ‘Palli Nibash’ residence and Jatiya Party office in Rangpur and fixed bank deposit of Tk 10 crore.
The 90-year-old former military ruler didn’t take his wife Raushan Ershad and brother GM Quader in the trustee board, said Faisal Chisti.
However, 11th Jatiya Sangsad opposition leader HM Ershad attended the parliament session only one day out of 26 days, due to illness.
He didn’t even join the campaign in the 11th national parliamentary elections in December last year.
