DHAKA: Krishak Sramik Janata League President Kader Siddique left Jatiya Oikyafront, a political alliance formed before the 11th national elections.

He made the announcement of his exit from the Gono Forum President Dr Kamal Hossain led alliance, at a press briefing held at Jatiya Press Club Monday (July 8).

"Oikyafront failed to play role in national issues,' he said.

He criticized BNP and Gono Forum, two major allies of Oikyafront, as their MP-elects joined the 11t national parliament denying the alliance's decision to reject the election.

"Oikyafront and BNP hadn't said anything over Feni madrasa girl Nusrat murder, latest Rifat murder and legal paddy price for the farmers. We cannot keep sitting idly, being a small party though," Kader Siddique said.

However, the Krishak Sramik Janata League president further said his party will work with large parties, if requires, to protect democracy.

"Will start working with fresh enthusiasm, standing by the people, to solve all of their problems," he added.

The press briefing was attended by Krishak Sramik Janata League General Secretary Habibur Rahman, Joint General Secretary Iqbal Siddique, Kader Siddique's wife and two daughters and other central leaders.
