DHAKA: Jatiya Party Chairman HM Ershad’s body will be taken to Rangpur on Tuesday (July 16), said party’s secretary general Moshiur Rahman Ranga.
His body will be brought back on that day to bury at Combined Military Graveyard in Dhaka, he added.
The first namaj-e-janaja the former president of Bangladesh will be held after Asr prayer at Dhaka Cantonment Central Mosque on Sunday.
Ranga said his second namaj-e-janaja will be held at South Plaza of National Parliament Complex around 10:00am on Monday (July 15).
After the janaja, the body will be carried to JP central office in the city's Kakrail at 11am to place tributes from partymen.
Later, his third Janaja will be held at Baitul Mukarram National Mosque after Asr prayer. Later, his body will be kept at mortuary of CMH.
Later on Tuesday (July 16), his body will be taken to Rangpur, his electoral area, at 10am by a helicopter. And his fourth janaja will be held at Rangpur Zila School ground or Rangpur Eidgah, said Ranga.
90-year-old former military ruler HM Ershad died at the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) here on Sunday (July 14) morning.
He breathed his last at 7:45am.
He was suffering from various old age complications including low hemoglobin count, liver complications, and lung and kidney infections.
