BNP won’t join polls without caretaker govt: Selima

A member of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party’s (BNP) standing committee Selima Rahman has made it clear that BNP will not go to any election in absence of a caretaker government.

At a joint event of Dhaka Metropolitan North and South BNP in front of the National Press Club, she made this remark on Sunday (July 24).

Dhaka Metropolitan South BNP convener Abdus Salam presided over the rally and moderated by North Member Secretary Aminul Haque and South Member Secretary Rafiqul Alam Majnur. 

Dhaka Metropolitan North BNP convener Aman Ullah Aman, BNP Central Volunteer Affairs Secretary Mir Sarafat Ali Sapu, Acting President of Jubo Dal Mamun Hasan, former President of Jubo Dal Saiful Alam Nirav, Volunteer Dal Saiful Islam Feroz, Chhatra Dal President Kazi Rawonkul Islam Shraban General Secretary Saif Mahmud Jewell among others spoke at the event.

Addressing the activists, Selima Rahman said that the government should be brought down, and elections should be held under a neutral caretaker government. 

However, if the elections are held under a caretaker government, BNP will participate.
