Bangladesh opt to field first against Sri Lanka

Bangladesh captain Litton Das won the toss and elected to field first in their opening Asia Cup Super Fours match against Sri Lanka at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Saturday.

The Tigers made two changes to their playing XI, with off-spinner Mahedi Hasan and left-arm pacer Shoriful Islam replacing leg-spinner Rishad Hossain and wicketkeeper-batter Nurul Hasan Sohan.

Sri Lanka, on the other hand, named an unchanged side from their previous game, where they defeated Afghanistan in the final Group B fixture.

Bangladesh will be looking to avenge their earlier group-stage defeat, when Sri Lanka secured a six-wicket victory on September 13.

Sri Lanka XI: Pathum Nissanka, Kusal Mendis (wk), Kamil Mishara, Kusal Perera, Charith Asalanka (capt), Kamindu Mendis, Dasun Shanaka, Wanindu Hasaranga, Dunith Wellalage, Dushmantha Chameera, Nuwan Thushara

Bangladesh XI: Tanzid Hasan, Saif Hassan, Litton Das (capt, wk), Towhid Hridoy, Jaker Ali, Shamim Hossain, Mahedi Hasan, Nasum Ahmed, Shoriful Islam, Taskin Ahmed, Mustafizur Rahman
