DHAKA:  Six icon players will play in 6 teams in the 3rd edition of Bangladesh Primer League (BPL), to be kicked off on November 22.

After a two and a half years’ of interval, the curtain of the tournament will be unveiled at home of cricket Sher-e-Bangla Cricket Stadium in Mirpur in city on November 20.

To get listed player with the franchisees, ‘players-by-choice’ was arranged at a city hotel Thursday morning.

Through the lottery among icon players during the BPL draft, Chittagong Vikings got Tamim Iqbal, Sylhet Super Star was given Mushfiqur Rahim while  Mahmudullah to Barisal Bulls, Shakib Al Hasan to Rangpur Riders, Nasir Hossain to Dhaka Dynamites and Mashrafe Mortaza to Comilla Victorians.

Earlier, Shakib Al Hasan, Mashrafe Mortaza, Tamim Iqbal, Mushfiqur Rahim, Nasir Hossain, and Mahmudullah were categorized as the icons for the third edition of the game.

Apart from those six, 19 foreign and 57 local players were picked during the draft.

The matches of the tournament will be held in Mirpur, Chittagong and Khulna.
