Australia 1st Innings 104 All Out in 51.2 overs (Mitchell Starc 26, Alex Carey 21, Travis Head 11, Nathan McSweeney 10, Jasprit Bumrah 5/30, Mohammad Siraj 2/20, Harshit Rana 3/45)
India leads by 218 runs with all 10 second wickets at hand.

Brilliant batting by Indian openers majestic youngster Yashasvi Jaiswal and classic KL Rahul producing an unbroken 172 opening partnership led India to an unassailable position at stumps on day two 222 runs ahead with all second innings at hand.

Unplayable Wicket of Day One Turned into batting Paradise on Day two. Green top pacy wicket, with uneven bounce and excessive lateral movement, made the wicket almost a batsman graveyard. India struggled to get up to 150 before getting bundled out. Then Bumrah inspired Indian pacers restricted Australia to 67/7 at stumps on day one.

Australian tail crawled to 104 all out. When India batted for the second time the venom from the wicket completely disappeared.  Indian openers KL Rahul and Yashasvi Jaiswal treating the same Aussie bowlers looking unplayable in the first innings on the same wicket set a solid platform for the Indian team from where they can dictate terms on the fate of the test. At stumps of day two India scoring 172 for no loss is   218  runs ahead with all second innings wicket at hand. 22 years old majestic maestro Jaiswal playing his first test in Australia rocked the cricket world scoring brilliant hundred against for world class bowlers on a juicy wicket. Equal credit must also be given to Rahul as well.

The day started with Australia reeling at 67/7 still 83 runs in arrears. Bumrah knocked out Alex Carey with his very first ball making it 70/8. Nathan Lyon also did not last long. Then onwards Starc and Hazelwood defied Indian bowlers till they got all out 104. Mitchell Starc batted for 112 balls for his 26. India earned 46 runs first innings lead. It was unconceivable after India got all out 150 yesterday.

The character of the wicket changed when India resumed batting. The seam movement was not that pronounced. Two top quality Indian openers Classic Rahul and prolific Jaiswal batting brilliantly almost batted Australia out of the test. What a terrific contrast. Australian bowlers looking so ominous on day one was reduced to pedestrians. India batted for 49.4 overs in the first innings. Indian openers in the second innings batted for 57 overs. Prolific youngster Jaiswal who averages over 56 remained unbeaten on 90 striking 7 fours and 2 sixes. Accomplished Rahul also remained unbeaten scoring 62. The massive 172 runs partnership may turn out as the test as well as series defining contribution who knows.

Australia with their back to the wall already has its work cut out. Tomorrow when play resumes they must ensure that India does not blow them completely out of the game. No praise is enough for the Indians. If Jasprit Bumrah championed with the ball, it was young Jaiswal who entertained all with his unsatiable thirst for runs. He scored a duck in his first but bounced back brilliantly in the second. A maestro is blooming. Test cricket is perhaps the only game where morning does not show the day.
