Bangladesh defeated visiting Afghanistan by 61 runs in the first T20I at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Dhaka on Thursday (March 3).
Chasing the 156-run target set by Bangladesh, the visitors lost all wickets to score 94 runs in 17.4 overs.
Najibullah Zadran took 27 runs while Azmatullah Omarzai scored 20 runs.
Nasum Ahmed bagged the highest 4 wickets while Shoriful Islam 3 and Shakib Al Hasan got 2 wickets.
Earlier in the day, Tigers won the toss and opted to bat first. They lost eight wickets to manage a fighting score of 155 runs in their disputed 20 overs.
Liton Das scored the highest 60 runs off 44 balls with two over boundaries and four boundaries. Besides, Afif Hossain took 25 runs off 24 balls.
For Afghans, Fazalhaq Farooqi and Azmatullah two wickets each.
Bangladesh included uncapped Munim Shahriar and Yasir Ali in the squad. The host also included Mohammad Naim in the playing XI despite his lean show in the BPL.
