No one having any doubt would ever argue about skills, quality of Bangladesh cricket super star. His all round abilities took him in exclusive club of the great all rounder Sir GA Sobers (West Indies)  , Jacque Kallis ( South Africa) , Sir IT Botham ( England) ,  Sir Richard Hadlee( New Zealand), Imran Khan ( Pakistan)  and Kapil Dev (India) . Off course each of the others during their careers won more matches for their teams. They also were involved in lesser controversies and missed fewer matches for their countries. For a small country having not much reputation in sporting arena Shakib is considered the best ever sports personality. A left handed top order batsman , left arm orthodox spinners and sharp fielder Shakib like CH Gayle played in all cricket franchise all over the world.  He is one of richest sportsmen having earned millions of dollars playing cricket and doing business and advertisements. Unlike most other cricket superstars he was suspended for different reasons few time and was served suspension terms of ICC. He himself skipped few important tours of Bangladesh for personal reasons. Reportedly for his indifferent form was not picked by any team in IPL 2022. His latest incident was unwillingness for playing his part in Bangladesh tour to South Africa in the excuse of physical fatigue . However, following hectic parleys tides of controversy settled and he has now joined his mates in the protean land. Bangladesh would play three ODIs and 2 Tests . From now Shakib declared himself available for all formats.

Shakib for his all rounder contribution reached the top of ICC rankings in all formats at the peak of his career. Many would say his reluctance for playing for Bangladesh in different formats from time to time not only affected his own career but also deprived his country of origin. Some would argue that him getting too much involved in different business during his playing career diverted his attention from the game. Moreover, his family staying in USA created additional stress for him as well in allocating time for his family .  He also got himself involved in some controversies leading to his suspensions . His latest episode was reluctance for playing for Bangladesh in the Tour of South Africa in the excuse of fatigue. Well for too much cricket these days and quarantine requirements players can have fatigues. But this time it was not the case with Shakib. The exact reasons for his reluctance could not be established. He left for business tour to UAE while the team mates were packing bags for flying out. While talking to media before his departure he stated about his fatigue and unwillingness to tour South Africa. His statement earned angry reactions from BCB bosses . Without waiting for his return BCB first announced central contracts naming Shakib in all formats and later granted him leave of absence from all cricket till 30^th April 2022.  Shakib returned, talked in person with BCB and all changed dramatically. Shakib is now in South Africa and would play in all formats if fit.

People wonder why such drama was created? Why Shakib and BCB had to behave so irrationally? How could his mental fatigue blew away so quickly?  Individual whatever great he or she might be is not greater than the country and no one is indispensible for anything forever. We know Shakib is one in three player. Such a player appears only in a millennium for any country. But Cricket would not cease to exist in Bangladesh when he retires eventually. Shakib’s presence would definitely boost Bangladesh on a very difficult mission against a very strong team.
