All-rounder cricketer Shakib Al Hasan’s mother-in-law Nargis Begum died of cancer on Friday night.

She breathed her last while undergoing treatment at Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in the capital.

Sources said her namaz-e-janaza will be held at her ancestral home in Narsingdi where she will be buried on Saturday.

Shakib went to the United States with his elder daughter Alaina Hasan Abri on April 1 as Abri’s school reopened. But, his wife Umme Ahmed Shishir was with her mother in the country.

Mentionable, Shakib’s father-in-law Mamtaj Ahmed died in December of 2020.
