Openers Tamim Iqbal hit century, although Sri Lanka got two vital wickets of Mahmudul Hasan Joy and Najmul Hossain Shanto on the third day of the opening Test against Sri Lanka on Tuesday.
Tamim Iqbal smashed his 10th Test ton - making 100 off 162 – after Mahmudul Hasan Joy departed immediately after lunch. Joy scored a responsible 58 runs off 142 balls.
Later, Shanto left for the pavilion with only 2 runs.
Earlier, the hosts reached 157-0 at lunch after they began the day on 76-0 in response to Sri Lanka's 397 in Chittagong.
Bangladesh trail by 226 runs while Tamim, on 101, and Najmul Hossain Shanto, on 2, were on the crese.
Tamim started the day confidently dispatching left-arm quick Vishwa Fernando for two fours in the second over of the day before bringing his 32nd Test fifty off 73 balls with a boundary.
Earlier, a 199-run knock by Angelo Mathews helped the visitors reach 397 in 153 overs. Mathews scored 199 runs in 397 balls, including 19 fours and a maximum.
