Bangladesh national football team was defeated by Turkmenistan 2-1 in the AFC Asian Cup qualifier match held at the Bukit Jalil National Stadium in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on Saturday.

In the ranking, Turkmenistan is 54 steps ahead of Bangladesh. 

Jamal Bhuiyan's team, which was lagging behind in strength, fought with all its might.

The game was tied 1-1 in the first half.  But Javier Cabrera's team could not leave the field with victory. 

The red-green jersey holders lost 2-1 to Turkmenistan in the second match of the Asian Cup qualifiers.

The third and also the last match will be held against the host Malaysia on June 14.
