Bangladesh earned yet another ODI series whitewash. They trounced once Champion ODI team West Indies in West Indies beating them comprehensively in three matches.

Three toss win and three match wins in the same Providence Stadium Venue on wickets similar to Bangladesh outplayed WI. First two matches were cake walk for Bangladesh. WI created some contest in the third putting up a competitive score of 178 all out in slow low gripping wicket.

Bangladesh though lost some crucial wickets in the chase for like matured unit keeping their cool won by 4 wickets scoring 179/6 in 48.3 Overs.  A perfect blend of Youth and experienced Bangladesh looks good as far as ODI unit is concerned. Special significance is that the series is won without Shakib, Mushfique and Saifuddin unavailable for different reasons. Tamim and Mahmudullah in their possibly last visit to the Carribeans did justice to their fame. Bangladesh must on the positives of the ODI series.

Wonder what West Indies intended to derive through preparing spin-friendly wicket knowing full well the quality of Bangladesh spinners and exposing their young team to Bangladesh spinners. However not taking an ounce away from brilliant exhibition of consistent controlled bowling of Bangladesh.

West Indies was literally swept away by Bangladesh in the first two matches. Courtesy captain Nicholas Pooran (73) and teenager Carty (33). Taijul (5/28) included in the team after warming the bench all along the tour gave a strong reminder that ignoring him is not something desirable. He bowled on teasing length, deceived with his flight.  On a spin-favoring track he is still a match winner. Nasum continued to impress in his 3rd match taking 2/39.  Mustafiz varying his pace smartly also chipped in with 2/24.

We are not make out why bringing back Anamul Haq Bijoy after his impressive world record setting stint in domestic cricket was overlooked yet again. Shanto favored over him failed to impress yet again. He looks novice against quality pace in any case. But Tamim was in his own self and Litton looked very impressive in his 50. West Indian rookie Gurukesh Motie created some tensions taking 4/23. But experienced Mahmudullah (26) and young Nurul Sohan (32*) playing like matured professional safely anchored the ship to the shore. Bangladesh won comfortably by 4 wickets.

Taijul deservedly won the player of the match. Tamim was adjudged the player of the series. Bangladesh won 4 ODI series against West Indies and 11th ODI on the trot. They are now on the top of ICC ODI League.

This series win will settle many nerves. Will make Bangladesh forget the nightmare of Test Series whitewash and T20 debacle. Hope, Bijoy and some blooming youngsters will be given enough opportunity in the upcoming series. Bangladesh needs at least 30 players for three formats fighting for their places for sustainable development. Only quality and performance must be the yardstick. Team management should not have humiliated Bijoy the way they did.
