Football fans of Bangladesh will enjoy the 22nd edition of FIFA World Cup live on T Sports as the authorities of the country's first and only sports channel have successfully bought the broadcasting rights.
The World Cup Football, which considered as Greatest Show on the Earth, is all set to commence on November 20 in Qatar.
Safwan Sobhan, vice chairman of Bashundhara Group and managing director of T Sports, said “As the first sports channel in the country, we have been taking the initiative of live broadcasting of all the popular events of the sports world since the beginning”.
Expressing his gratefulness to FIFA for choosing T Sports as a partner to broadcast the World Cup, he said "The FIFA World Cup is the most prestigious event in the world of sports. The passion of the people of this country towards football and FIFA World Cup has always been different. That is why we have continued to negotiate to get the rights to broadcast the FIFA World Cup in Bangladesh”.
Apart from broadcasting all FIFA World Cup matches, T Sports will diversify the World Cup-centric TV shows.
Former players who played Football World Cup for various countries in Europe and Latin America will join in various shows of T Sports.
In this context, T Sports Chief Executive Officer Ishtiaq Sadek said, “Previously, various shows were broadcasted in Bangladesh during Football World Cup. But our thinking is completely different this time. We want to create a program to compete with various international sports channels and we made some plan in this regard. Hopefully, T Sports viewers will have a show to be proud of”.
As the first and only sports channel of Bangladesh, it has been broadcasting various events in and outside the country since its inception. The 2022 FIFA World Cup will add a new feather to the wings of success for T Sports.
T Sports – the youngest member of the Bashundhara Group-owned East West Media Group, started its journey in November 2020 with the Bangladesh-Nepal Bangabandhu International FIFA Friendly Series.
