The High Court on Tuesday (Sep 06) granted an eight-week anticipatory bail to Bangladesh national team cricketer Al-Amin Hossain in a domestic violence case.

A High Court division bench comprising Justice Md Rezaul Hasan and Justice Md Atabullah issued the order.

On September 1, Ishrat Jahan, wife of the national team pacer (pace-bowler) filed a complaint in Mirpur Model Thana alleging that Al-Amin tortured and physically abused her for dowry. Also, the victim was forcefully driven out of her house with her minor kids, the complaint said.

After primary investigation and verification police registered the complaint as a case of domestic violence.
