Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has directed the authorities concerned to build a house for Rupna Chakma, a member of Bangladesh Women Football Team that clinched the SAFF Women's Championship-2022 title, in her Rangamati hometown. 

The premier, now in New York to attend the 77th UNGA summit, gave the instruction after her attention was caught on a picture of Rupna Chakma's dilapidated house that went viral on social media. 

PM's Press Secretary Ihasanul Karim said that the Prime Minister ordered to build of a house for Rupna Chakma, who became the best goalkeeper in the just-concluded SAFF Women’s Championship in Nepal. 

However, Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Rangamati, Mohammad Mizanur Rahman visited the homes of Rupna Chakma and her fellow player Ritu Porna with sweets, fruits and flowers to greet them for winning the maiden SAFF Women's Championship title for Bangladesh.
