Sri Lanka skipper Dasun Shanaka won the toss and opted to bowl first in the 2022 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup opener vs Namibia at Kardinia Park in Geelong.

The big news from the Sri Lankan camp is that young left-arm quick Dilshan Madushanka has been ruled out of the tournament with a quadricep injury. Madushanka sustained the injury during Sri Lanka’s final training session ahead of this game.

With Madushanka out, Sri Lanka have opted for Pramod Madushan to partner Dushmantha Chameera. The former had an excellent latter half of the Asia Cup, picking up 4 wickets in the final.

On the batting front the management have opted to keep Charith Asalanka out of the XI, with Dhananajaya de Silva and Danushka Gunathilake taking up the No. 3 & 4 spots.
