Public transport owners are set to start the e-ticketing service for buses of 30 companies on Mirpur route in Dhaka tomorrow (Nov 13).
Khandkar Enayet Ullah, General Secretary of Bangladesh Road Transport Owners Association disclosed the matter at a press conference organised at the association office in the capital today (Nov 12).
He said buses of 30 companies will run on Mirpur route under e-ticketing from tomorrow.
Besides, the e-ticketing services will be introduced for all vehicles in Dhaka by January 31, Enayet Ullah added.
Everyone should come under e-ticketing, the leader of transport owners said, adding that there will be no uneven competition in the e-ticketing system.
Transport workers will come under the payroll system while contractual vehicle movement will also be stopped, he said.
A central monitoring cell will be formed so that drivers cannot halt their vehicles anywhere except stoppages for passengers.
Dhaka Road Transport Owners Association President Ajmal Uddin Ahmed Sabur, and Office Secretary Samdani Khandkar were present at the press meet.
