The authorities have increased prices of sugar and soybean oil by Tk 13 per kg and 12 per litre respectively.

As per the revised price, consumers will now have to pay Tk 190 for a one litre bottle of soyabean oil and Tk 108 for a kilogram of packaged sugar.

However, loose soyabean oil will be sold at Tk 172 per litre while sugar at Tk 102 per kg.

Director of City Group Biswajit Saha confirmed the matter.

He said that the Ministry of Commerce took the decision and informed us about it verbally.

The new prices will be effective from Thursday (November 17), he added.
