Bashundhara Group Managing Director Sayem Sobhan Anvir is a well-wisher of bankers, who play silent roles in the economic development of the country, said a top official of the industrial conglomerate.      

“Banks are keeping the country’s economy alive through financing the development activities and industrialisation. Bankers help economic expansion by creating new entrepreneurs. They are playing a silent role in the country’s economy,” said Razib Samad, chief operating officer (banking) of Bashundhara Group.

He made the statement at a programme of Bankers Club of Bangladesh Limited (BCBL) in Purbachal, on the outskirts of the capital, on Friday.  
Applauding the role of bankers, the official said they (bankers) have significant contributions to advancement of the country’s economy behind the scenes.

Premier Bank Adviser Muhammed Ali was present as the chief guest at the closing ceremony while NRB Bank Managing Director Mamoon Mahmood Shah attended the event as a special guest.         

In his speech, prominent banker Muhammed Ali said banks are driving the country’s economy by creating new entrepreneurs and financing existing businesses.

“In this case, the bankers are working as the craftsmen of the economy,” he said, making a call for all the bankers to fulfill their duties with ethical practices.

South Bangla Agriculture and Commerce Bank (SBAC) Deputy Managing Director Nurul Azim and Community Bank Deputy Managing Director Mainul Kabir, among other executives of the banks, were also present on the occasion.      

ABG Limited of Bashundhara Group is the title sponsor of the annual picnic of BCBL. The bankers club has honoured Bashundhara Group Managing Director Sayem Sobhan Anvir with a crest on the occasion.

On behalf of Bashundhara Group Managing Director Sayem Sobhan Anvir, chief operating officer Razib Samad received the crest. Sector-B Head of Brand Communication Saiful Islam Rubel was also present on the occasion.

BCBL President Mohammed Emtiaz Uddin, General Secretary Rashed Akter and Premier Bank Head of Branding Tareq Uddin also spoke on the occasion.
