Stocks witness fall Thursday

DHAKA: Investors witnessed minor fall in benchmark indices of the country’s bourses on Thursday.

The key index of Dhaka Stock Exchange, DSEX, shed over 43 points to stand at 4,395 at the close on the last trading day of the week.

Trade deals stood at 173,910 with transaction at Tk 7,281 million. Of the issues traded, 91 advanced, 175 declined and 20 remained unchanged.

GENNEXT topped the turnover list with shares worth Tk 381 million having changed hands.

The other turnover leaders were RNSPIN, SQURPHARMA, GP, BEXIMCO, MPETROLEUM, BENGALWTL, PTL, MALEKSPIN and JAMUNAOIL.

Chittagong stocks also followed the suit, with the CSE Selective Categories Index climbing down to 8,598 by dropping over 99 points.

Out of the issues traded, 66 gained, 147 declined and 14 remained unchanged.
