The prices of broiler chicken and vegetable have gone up in Dhaka's kitchen markets even after the festival of Eid-ul-Fitr.
On Friday (April 28), upon visiting several kitchen markets around the capital including Malibagh, Modhubag and others it was seen that the price of broiler chicken, and vegetable prices went up.
Broiler chicken was being sold for Tk 240 Tk 250 per kg, compared to Tk 195-Tk 210 during the month of Ramadan in various kitchen markets in Dhaka.
Besides, the price of cock or sonali chicken was Tk 360-Tk 380 per kg while layers was Tk 350.
While visiting the kitchen markets in the capital, it was found that per kg green chillies at Tk 80, eggplant at Tk 60 –Tk 80, tomato at Tk 50-Tk 60, green mango at Tk 70-Tk 80, carrot at Tk 80-Tk 90, cauliflower (per piece) at Tk 50, pumpkin (per piece) at Tk 50-Tk 60.
Meanwhile, the prices of beef and mutton, which shot up before Eid-ul-Fitr, have remain stable in the kitchen markets of the capital city as the demand for meat has dropped due to less number of customers.
The beef price was at Tk750 per kg on Friday while the mutton price was at Tk 1,000 to Tk 1,100 per kg.
