The government on Thursday (June 1) proposed changes to duties on different products, which will result in an increase and decrease in their prices.
Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal placed the proposed budget of Tk 7,61,785 crore for the FY 2023-24 with a target of 7.5 GDP growth.
Some products and services, which prices will go down are - Sweets, Cancer medicine, airplane engine, Turbo engine, Optical fiber cable, Raw materials for medicine, Cake, Malaria and TB medicines, Homemade biscuit, Diaper, Sanitary napkin, Agriculture equipment, Homemade biscuits, Microbus, seating 15 or less, Cancer medicine.
Some other products’ prices to go up are - Imported nuts, imported coffe, Bicycle parts, Imported software, Cylinder of high-end electric vehicle, E-Cigarette, Imported motorcycle, Imported Electric lighting fittings, Nicotine or nicotine substitutes, Optical fiber cables, Dates, Lift, Gold Bar, Products containing tobacco, Adhesive/Glue, Cement, Ball point pen, Software, Polypropylene film, LPG cylinder, Mobile phone, Plastic household products, Tissue paper, Aluminium utensils, Sunglasses, Refrigerator, Printer, SSD card, Projector, Electric panel, Basmati rice, GI fittings.
