DHAKA: Trading on the country’s two bourses is underway showing gain in share-price indices on Wednesday, the first day of New Year.

The key index of Dhaka Stock Exchange, DSEX, rose over 40 points to stand at 4,307 at 11:45am.

Trade deals stood at 28653 with transaction at Tk 1,149 million.

Of the issues traded, 202 advanced, 23 declined and 19 remained unchanged.

LANKABAFIN topped the turnover list with shares worth Tk 102 million having changed hands during the time.

Chittagong stocks also followed the suit, with the CSE Selective Categories Index climbing up to 8,427 by gaining over 50 points at 11:46am.

Out of the issues traded, 98 gained, 34 declined and 28 remained unchanged.
