Spl tribunal on capital market

DHAKA: Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs has issued a gazette notification to form special tribunal aimed at quick disposal of cases regarding the country’s capital market.

The copy of notification, published on January 7, has reached at Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission on last Thursday.

The government has formed this special tribunal in 2012, according to sub-section (1) of the section 25 (B) of the Securities and Exchange Ordinance-1969, to avert the chaos of share and capital market.

Whole country will be considered under jurisdiction of the law.

Some good numbers of cases remained pending due to lack of separate tribunal regarding the matter. Experts hope to discard at least 17 pending cases under this act.

Moreover, according to the ordinance, the government will provide salary of a session judge for the court, logistic supports, and other facilities to gain the expected result in this field.
