Stocks witness fall Thursday

DHAKA: Investors witnessed sharp fall in the benchmark indices of the country’s bourses on Thursday.

The key index of Dhaka Stock Exchange, DSEX, shed over four points to stand at 4,759 at the close on the last trading day of the week.

Trade deals stood at 112833 with transaction at Tk 5,339 million.
    
 Of the issues traded, 136 advanced, 125 declined and 26 remained unchanged.

DELTALIFE topped the turnover list with shares worth Tk 453 million having changed hands.

The other turnover leaders were BSCCL, SQURPHARMA, OLYMPIC, JAMUNAOIL, MPETROLEUM, BDBUILDING, DESCO, SOUTHEASTB, BSC.

Chittagong stocks also followed the suit, with the CSE Selective Categories Index climbing down to 9,362 by dropping over one point.
 
Out of the issues traded, 66 gained, 123 declined and 31 remained unchanged.
