Stocks witness fall Monday

DHAKA: Investors witnessed gain in the benchmark indices of the country’s bourses on Monday.

The key index of Dhaka Stock Exchange, DSEX, rose over 29 points to stand at 4,684 at the close on the second trading day of the week.

Trade deals stood at 75,264 with transaction at Tk 3,440 million. Of the issues traded, 98 advanced, 158 declined and 36 remained unchanged.

MPETROLEUM topped the turnover list with shares worth Tk 213 million having changed hands.

The other turnover leaders were SQURPHARMA, LANKABAFIN, BSCCL, OLYMPIC, JAMUNAOIL, AFCAGRO, DELTALIFE, PADMAOIL and SOUTHEASTB.

Chittagong stocks also followed the suit, with the CSE Selective Categories Index climbing up to 9,217 by gaining over 52 points.

Out of the issues traded, 67 gained, 122 declined and 22 remained unchanged.
