DHAKA: Investors witnessed sharp fall in the benchmark indices of the country’s bourses on Monday.

The DSE general index shed over 21 points to stand at 4,665 at the close on the third trading day of the week.

Trade deals stood at 95,432 with transaction at Tk 4,017 million.
    
Of the issues traded, 115 advanced, 136 declined and 40 remained unchanged.

LAFSURCEML topped the turnover list with shares worth Tk 285 million having changed hands.

The other turnover leaders were SQURPHARMA, BSCCL, OLYMPIC, BXPHARMA, JAMUNAOIL, SQUARETEXT, MPETROLEUM, GP and PADMAOIL.

Chittagong stocks also followed the suit, with the CSE Selective Categories Index climbing down to 9139 by dropping over 20 points.
 
Out of the issues traded, 85 gained, 107 declined and 26 remained unchanged.
