Leaders of the Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS) said the lost heritage of the country's jewellery industry would be resorted by the association president Sayem Sobhan Anvir.
They made the remarks at an exchange meeting organized by BAJUS, at Fatema Convention Center auditorium in Jhalokati on Sunday (May 15) at 7 pm.
Dr. Dilip Kumar Roy, former BAJUS president and chairman of the District Monitoring Standing Committee, said Bashundhara Group’s Managing Director Sayem Sobhan Anvir took the responsibility of BAJUS to revamp the sector.
Addressing the event, Dr. Roy thanked Sayem Sobhan Anvir, managing director of Bashundhara Group, and said, today under the leadership of Sayem Sobhan Anvir we have got legitimacy, and our capital is safe.
Jewellery products carrying made in Bangladesh logo will surpass RMG items in terms of export earnings, the leaders hoped, adds Dr. Roy, saying we want gold rate will be the same in all parts of the country.
Thanking Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Dr. Roy said PM has an eye on our sector.
BAJUS will take every responsibility of the members he added, requesting all concerned to continue business with honesty.
Requesting the customer Dr. Roy said to buy jewelery from the certified members.
Special guests at the meeting were Masudur Rahman, co-editor of Bajus and Vice Chairman of Bajus Standing Committee on Law and Membership, Md. Joynal Abedin Khokon, Bajus executive member and member secretary of Bajus Standing Committee on Law and Membership Md. Ripnul Hasan, Bajus executive member and Bajus Standing Committee on District Monitoring Pabitra Chandra Ghosh. Bajus Media Coordinator Ruhul Amin Russell was present.
At the meeting, the members of BAJUS Jhalokati district branch raised various issues and expectations on behalf of Jhalokati businessmen to all the central leaders.
