Bangladesh Jewellers' Association (BAJUS) has decided to increase the price of gold in the domestic market by Tk 4,119 per bhori.
The new rate will be effective from Sunday (May 22), says a press release.
The prices of gold in the local market had been adjusted in line with the rise in the prices in the international market, Bajus sources said.
After the latest hike, a bhori (11.664 grams) of 22-carat gold will cost Tk 82,464, 21-carat Tk 78,732, 18-carat Tk 67,535 and traditional gold 56,220.
The price of silver, however, remained unchanged.
