Bashundhara Spice has sponsored the ongoing 25th Inter-club Shooting Competition, organised by the Bangladesh Shooting Sport Federation, said a news release on Thursday (June 2).
The competition began on Wednesday at the Gulshan Shooting Complex in the capital.
On behalf of Bashundhara Group Vice-Chairman Shafiat Sobhan Sanvir, Sector-A Chief Operating Officer MM Jasim Uddin was present as the chief guest during the opening session on Wednesday.
BSSF General Secretary Intekhabul Hamid inaugurated the sports carnival while Senior Vice-President Isteaque Ahmed chaired the function.
In his speech, MM Jasim Uddin said Bashundhara Group is very happy and proud to be able to integrate itself into such an event.
“You all know that Bashundhara Group is the only corporate group in the country which is very sports-friendly. In the last ten years, we have been involved in almost all sports activities in the country,” he added.
Speaking about the contributions of the group in the field of sports, Jasim further said the Group is also optimistic about the shooting sport as vice-chairman Shafiat Sobhan personally wishes for the success of this tournament.
A total of 163 men and 81 women shooters from 46 clubs are taking part in two disciplines – open sight rifle/pistol and 10m air rifle/pistol – of the five-day competition this year.
