Bangladesh Jeweller's Association (BAJUS) President Sayem Sobhan Anvir's effort is on to bring all jewellers under an umbrella to forge unity.
Leaders of the BAJUS made the remarks at a view exchange meeting at Kishoreganj on Monday (June 13).
BAJUS executive member and Bajus Standing Committee on District Monitoring Pabitra Chandra Ghosh attended the meeting as chief guest.
All businessmen associated with the jewellery industry across the country need to be united to ensure business safety and get rid of extortion and harassment, he said.
The congenial atmosphere has been restored to the jewellery sector by dint of leadership of BAJUS President Sayem Sobhan Anvir, he also said.
The jewellery industry will be of international standard and excel other businesses in export earnings under the apt leadership of Sayem Sobhan Anvir who wants the staggered traders to be united, Pabitra Chandra Ghosh added.
BAJUS Kishoreganj district branch president Gazi Jamal Uddin presided over the meeting which was moderated by its general secretary Md. Masuduzzaman.
BAJUS Kishoreganj unit member Ujjwal Roy, Vijay Chandra Sarkar, former president Md. Asaduzzaman Asad, Pakundia Upazila representative Shahan Shah and Katiadi Upazila representative Alamgir Hossain, among others, spoke on the meeting.
Besides, vice-president of BAJUS Kishoreganj unit Madan Kumar Karmakar, its district branch, Assistant general secretary Papan Basak, Subrata Roy, Md. Gazi Mia and Alamgir Hossain and other BAJUS members from 13 upazilas of the district attended the programme.
