The Agricultural Library and organization Krishoker Batighor (The Farmers' Lighthouse) have come up with some advice and services for the farmers about cultivation during the Kharif season.
The members of the organization met with the farmers to discuss the current season's crop, focusing on paddy cultivation, various fertilizer and pesticide management.
Krishoker Batighor provided counseling in the field of various crops in Mirpur upazila of Kushtia district on Saturday (July 2).
The members of the organisation visited the crop field and informed the farmers about the various current farming methods.
Besides, farmers were encouraged to use the right number of pesticides and chemical fertilizers as well as organic fertilizers.
Asaduzzaman Ratan, treasurer of the Krishoker Batighor said, “We provided information among the farmers including modern methods of paddy cultivation, application of pesticides and chemical fertilizers, use of organic fertilizers in the land,”
Zinnia Islam, an executive member of the Krishoker Batighor said that farmers showed their interest to know more about modern farming methods.
Besides, farmers expect more initiatives like this and also seek cooperation from the government for the cultivation, she added.
Shamsul Haque, president of Krishoker Batighor, vice-president Kanchan Kumar, executive member Habibur Rahman, Zahid Hasan and members including Anikur Rahman, Sagar Ali, Samrat Ahmed, Shoaib Mallick and others were also involved in the day long activities. Agro Alchemy and KrishiBD were collaborated the activities program.
