Bangladesh Jeweler’s Association (BAJUS) has urged buyers to buy gold with hallmarks.
The leaders of the organisation made the call from the new member recruitment and exchange meeting of Rajshahi unit at Swarnakar Patti of Saheb Bazar in the metropolitan city on Sunday (July 31).
BAJUS former president MA Wadud Khan was the chief guest while advisor Ruhul Amin Rusel, vice-chairman of standing committee on law and membership Masudur Rahman, and member secretary Ripnul Hasan were present on the occasion while BAJUS Rajshahi vice-president Utpal Roy presided over the session.
BAJUS Rajshahi general secretary Moklesur Rahman and its Rajshahi election management committee chief election commissioner Bikash Sarkar were also present.
They mentioned the role of BAJUS President Sayem Sobhan Anvir to bring all gold traders under single umbrella as there was no contact of Centre with the district units earlier.
As businessmen sometimes face administrative problems, local traders hoped that the top leadership of BAJUS would take steps to resolve the problem. Besides, they wanted Centre to play a role in determining and implementing the market price of gold.
Businessmen said BAJUS president Sayem Sobhan Anvir has created a renaissance in the oraganisation as the traders are seeing the rays of hope for bringing back the golden days of the business with the present leadership.
In his speech, former present MA Wadud Khan said there are many complications in pricing of gold due to compromise of some traders.
He urged all businessmen to trade the gold with hallmark to address the problem in pricing.
An electoral board was formed for conducting the executive council election of Rajshahi district unit of BAJUS for 2022-2024 term.
Election board chairman Bikash Kumar Sarkar, members ASM Hashem Uddin and Saiful Islam, Appeal Board chairman Enamul Haque Sohail, its members Jahangir Alam and Kazi Shahed were present.
This board will complete the election within the next 90 days.
