DHAKA: The government has taken an initiative to asses report on private university conducted by Transparency International Bangladesh (TIB).   

In this regard, the education ministry sent the report to two experts to evaluate whether it was done authentically or not.

Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid made the disclosure in an emergency press briefing on Tuesday afternoon.

On June 30, TIB published a report titled ‘Private University: Governance Challenges and Way Forward Presentation’ which said about underhand exchange of money in approving new private universities, appointments and in teaching.

Education Minister, University Grants Commission (UGC) and private university authorities rejected the research report.
