IUB’s Raihan runner-up at Turaag Active National Squash 2025

Md. Raihan, a student of Finance at Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB), has become Runner-up in the Men’s Member Group of the Turaag Active 5th National Squash Championship 2025. 

The tournament, held from October 13-16, 2025, featured several other IUB students, including Riazul Jannat Urdho, from the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, who finished fourth in the Open Women’s Group.

The tournament, co-organized by IUB, the Bangladesh Squash Federation (BSF), Urmi Group, and Turaag Active, featured 180 male and female participants from 25 clubs and institutions. IUB, one of the official venue partners of the tournament, hosted the female segment at the university Squash Court. IUB Squash Coach Marjan Monika coordinated the female segment with support from DoSA.

On October 13, 2025, the female segment was inaugurated by GM Kamrul Islam, Secretary General of the Bangladesh Squash Rackets Federation (BSRF), along with Ashraful Amin, Director of Council Affairs, IUB, and Atif M. Safi, Head, Division of Student Activities (DoSA), IUB. A token of appreciation was presented to IUB by BSRF in recognition of the university’s support for the development and promotion of squash in the country.

The championship concluded on October 16, 2025, at the Bashundhara Sports City, with trophies, medals, and cash prizes awarded to champions and runners-up. The closing ceremony was attended by Mr. Md. Mahbub-Ul-Alam, Secretary, Ministry of Youth and Sports; Mr. Kazi Nazrul Islam, Executive Director, National Sports Council; and Mr. Rashed Chowdhury, Member of the IUB Board of Trustees and Vice President of the Bangladesh Squash Rackets Federation.
