DHAKA: A separate cadre will be formed for Primary Education. But, Assistant Upazila/Thana Education Officer (ATEO) will be promoted to first class first.

Primary and Mass Education Ministry is talking to Public Administration Ministry about it.

In an exclusive interview to Banglanews24.com, Secretary to Primary and Mass Education Ministry Kazi Akhter Hossain made the assertions on Wednesday.

The ministry has brought fame for Bangladesh from abroad for the advancement in educating girls though this high up of the government credited Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for the achievements.

He told that the rate of girl child enrolment in the schools of Bangladesh is higher than any other neighbouring country.

He also said there are more than 100,000 competent teachers whom we have provided with infrastructural and training facilities.

In response to another question, he said there are no failures in the primary education sector but there are challenges. Around 400,000 teachers are teaching a huge amount of students in the primary level.

Managing the whole thing is a challenge for us, he added.
