DHAKA: The Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examinations scheduled for February 8 and 10 have been shifted to February 13 and 14 respectively due to hartal of 20-party alliance.

Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid made the rearrangement of examination schedule in a press briefing at Chittagong Circuit House on Saturday afternoon.

He said that the examination of English 1st paper, which is compulsory for all, will be held from 9:00am Friday.

Besides, according to the education minister, English 2nd paper, another compulsory subject, exam will be held from 10:00am Saturday.

The examinations have been rescheduled following 72-hour countrywide hartal starting from Sunday dawn.

Earlier, two more tests of the ongoing SSC examinations were also taken on last Friday and Saturday for the same reason.
