SIRAJGANJ: Miscreants on Thursday night burnt down here a centre’s office room of this years Dakhil Examinations, equivalent to the Secondary School Certificate (SSC), just hours before of the first test.

Sources told banglanews that the centre was damaged at district’s Rayganj upazila.

Miscreants, according to the locals, set fire to a trunk, containing answer-sheets after breaking a window of the centre’s office room in the night.

A total of 141 answer-sheets, however, were burnt in the fire, set to Dhangarha Fajil Madrasa, sources added. Later, residential students of the Madrasa doused the fire.

Dhangarha Fajil Madrasa principal Mawlana Rais Uddin, also the centre secretary, confirmed the sabotage.

Rayganj Thana Officer-in-Charge (OC) Rashedul Islam, on the other hand, said that police is looking into the matter.

However, SSC and equivalent examinations are set to start on Friday after delays due to the nationwide indefinite blockade, starting from January 5, called by Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP)-led 20-party alliance.
