JU teacher fired for sexual harassment

JAHANGIRNAGAR UNIVERSITY: The authorities of Jahangirnagar University sacked AKM Anisuzzaman, lecturer of Accounting and Information Systems Department on charge of harassing a female student sexually.

The decision came from a syndicate meeting on Thursday evening.

Registrar Abu Bakar Siddique, also syndicate secretary, disclosed the matter to journalists.

He further said, “AKM Anisuzzaman was sacked as the allegation of sexual harassment against him was found true.”

On August 23 of 2014, lecturer AKM Anisuzzaman was discharged following a report by a primary investigation committee that was formed after the allegation of sexual harassment against him and another committee led by vice chancellor of the varsity, was formed.

AKM Anisuzzaman was sacked after the report by the later committee.
