RAJSHAHI UNIVERSITY (RU): Rajshahi University (RU) Shikkhak Samity announced to go for work abstention and sit-ins on Sunday (August 9) demanding re-fix of 8th National Pay Scale and protesting the devaluation of university teachers’.

The decision was taken from the general meeting of shikkhak samity at 9:30pm.

Later, shikkhak samity president Dr Ananda Kumar Saha confirmed the matter to banglanews.

He further said teachers will go for work abstention protesting the devaluation of university teachers in the proposed 8th National Pay Scale.

Besides, the teachers will observe sit-ins for two hours that will start at 10:00am in front of university senate building, Prof. AK Saha added.

Earlier, on Wednesday (August 5), Jagannath University (JnU) Shikkhak Samity announced to go for indefinite work abstention if their demand of separate pay scale was not met and protesting the devaluation of university teachers’ in the 8th Pay Scale.
