Academic activities of 5 colleges cancelled

BARISAL: Barisal Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (BSHSEB) has cancelled academic activities in five colleges as no student had passed from them in past Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) examination.

The colleges include — Chandukhali School and College of Begati upazila and Kakchira School and College of Patharghata upazila of Barguna district and Nasima-Keramat Ali School and College of Dumki upazila, Majidbaria College of Mirzaganj upazila and Bihari Pilot School and College of Mirzaganj upazila of Patuakhali district.

BSHSEB college inspector Dr Liakat Hossian said permission of academic activities in the five colleges have been cancelled on Wednesday.

Besides, the board issued show-cause notice to the college authorities to explain by seven working days about the cent percent failure.

The final decision will be taken about the colleges after receiving their explanations. Approvals of these colleges might be cancelled, if needed.
