SSC, equivalent exams begins Monday

DHAKA: Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and its equivalent examinations will begin on Monday (February 1).

As many as 1,651,523 students will take part in the examinations. Of them, some 808,590 are female students.

At least 172,257 more students are going to attend the examinations than the previous year.

For the first time seven autistic students are participating the examinations.

Earlier on January 30, education minister Nurul Islam Nahid made this assertion at a press conference at his secretariat office in city regarding the upcoming examinations.

This year, students from 28,119 institutions will sit for examinations at 3,143 centers. Of them, eight centers have been setup abroad.

Regarding the question paper leak, the minister said that there is no possibilities of question leak as the government agencies have increased surveillance over the suspects.

He further said that Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) authorities have also been asked to work stopping any sort of rumor over question paper leak through any social media especially Facebook.

The minister also vowed to make the upcoming examinations free from any sort of irregularities.

However, the theoretical part of the examinations will end on March 8 and the practical part, which will begin on March 9, will continue till March 14.
