Popular actress Nipun Akter is the general secretary of Bangladesh Film Artistes' Association (BFAA), according to the Appellate Division order.

The court also stayed the High Court order that earlier declared Zayed Khan's candidacy legal.

A three-member Appellate Division bench, led by Chief Justice Hasan Foez Siddique, pronounced the verdict.

At the same time, the court permitted actress Nipun to file a leave-to-appeal against the HC verdict.

Advocate Ahsanul Karim and Advocate Nahid Sultana Juthi moved for Zayed Khan while Barrister Rokon Uddin Mahmud and Barrister Mostafizur Rahman Khan stood for Nipun during hearing.
