DHAKA: Freedom Fighter, Ekushey Padak winning lyricist, composer and music director Ahmed Imtiaz Bulbul passed away early on Tuesday (Jan 22). He was 63. 

After Bulbul suffered a heart attack at his Aftabnagar residence around 4:00 am, he was taken to Ayesha Memorial Hospital in city’s Mohakhali area where doctors declared him dead around 5:30am, Rozon, Music recordist of Ahmed Imtiaz Bulbul, told Banglanews. 

Ahmed Imtiaz Bulbul joined the Liberation War in 1971. He was born on January 1, 1956 in Dhaka.

Bulbul achieved Ekushey Padak, National Film Award and the President Award.
